Sweet Jam #9 05:33
what the hell happened to us star beyond Venus you left in such a rush I only know you from fleeting moments to see you standing there a figment of my dreams but don't intervene suddenly we start to see just how awful a battle with the devil can be a learned long ago that life truly is a a sequence of numbers and decimals randomizing exponentially but quite like Patrick Stump I'm not that great at math. I looked forward and saw ranch houses and sky scrapers, mountains and oceans, we were on top of the world and no one could stop us. but, we made the mistake when we started by going to the third star to the right. the needles you pushed into your veins delivered the love that I couldn't give you straight to your heart and what a tragedy that was. I promised that if I could take that day back I would. but the hurt that I felt that day is how I remember you forward *I'm running down a street of blank thoughts* *my face is hurting as I pick up the pace* *I stare straight ahead* *holding anything that will keep me on the ground* I guess that it was fair the conclusion of these circumstances but I'll promise you this I will dedicate my eyes to being on the lookout for you you have infected my mind throw dust into the dust

about

PlusManyOthers is a now-defunct math rock group hailing from the Ohio Valley area. The band irreversibly tightened the friendships of its five members. They were known for their surprisingly palatable mix of energetic ska punk, stuttering math rock rhythms, unusual melodic sensibilities, and their antics both on and off the stage.

Though they were a local scene cult-classic, their debut album never truly came to fruition, as fate would have it. Remastered and repackaged here are their three strongest tracks, recorded in 2013-2014 for said prospective album. Until now, these recordings were only available on members' obscure Soundcloud profiles and CDR's distributed at their final performance (where they opened for Mylets, This Town Needs Guns and Emma Ruth Rundle).

At times lighthearted, and at times intense and emotional, these three songs are imbued with the inner lives of five young men struggling to come-of-age, earn a living and forge their identities and futures in the decaying rust belt.

Thanks to James Becca for recording, mixing and wrangling the band. Support his band, fallfiftyfeet. Thank you to anyone still listening to PMO years down the road, and a big special thank you to Colleen Holskey for always cooking us some breakfast in the crumpled, grey mornings after "practice".

about

PlusManyOthers Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

PlusManyOthers is (was?) most likely the Ohio Valley's first progressive ska-tinged mathrock ensemble. Definitely the best one.
